Modular fully anechoic chambers are emerging as a practical alternative to fixed concrete-and-gypsum rooms in precision acoustic measurement, pairing metal-panel construction with specialized absorption wedges. The design aims to balance straightforward assembly, high measurement accuracy and relocatability for laboratories that need dependable free-field conditions.
A fully anechoic chamber treats all six interior surfaces—walls, floor and ceiling—with high-performance absorption wedges. The goal is to suppress sound reflections so that sound power level, sound intensity and abnormal-noise tests can be conducted in an environment that approximates free-field conditions.
Unlike conventional rooms built from concrete and plasterboard, the modular format uses metal panels combined with acoustic wedges. That construction allows the chamber to be assembled, reconfigured or moved while maintaining the controlled interior needed for repeatable measurements.
The chamber’s performance depends on the depth and configuration of its wedges, which are matched to different low-frequency cutoff requirements and room constraints. Thicker wedges generally extend absorption toward lower frequencies.
| Model | Wedge thickness | Companion isolation panel |
|---|---|---|
| T-250 | 250 mm | 3TS65 |
| HV02W | 310 mm | 3TS65 |
| T-500 | 500 mm | 3TS65 |
Three configurations are available. The T-250 uses 250 mm wedges, the HV02W uses 310 mm wedges and the T-500 uses 500 mm wedges; all three are paired with the 3TS65 isolation panel. Selection is guided by the frequency range of the intended measurements and the available interior space.
Supporting systems are designed to preserve the acoustic environment while keeping the room usable for extended test programs.
The combination is intended to keep the interior acoustically stable without sacrificing the services needed for instrument-heavy test work.
The system is intended for acoustic evaluation of automotive components, precision electronics, nanotechnology products and environmental equipment. It supports analysis of sound power level, sound intensity and abnormal noise.
Using the inverse-square measurement method, the chamber can produce detailed performance assessment reports. That makes it suitable for laboratories that need to compare designs, verify specifications or investigate unwanted noise under controlled conditions.
